I will admit that I do check the Groupon site often for good deals. If I see a good deal that is just way too good to pass up, then you better believe it, I will grab that Groupon! Yesterday I managed to have quite a frugal day with 3 Groupons. I had a fun-filled day with some good sweets and treats, and a dinner to go along with it! Groupons geared towards dining are always a great way to experience something new and give it a whirl! These Groupons allow you to enjoy food and drink at a deeply discounted price.

I have only had bison once in my life and it was a stew that I created. My little family of 3 was so pleased with it so I decided that this week I would purchase a package of organic ground bison from Kroger and create a chili with it. I also wanted this chili to be paleo so there are no beans in this chili and it is gluten-free as well. One of the highlights is that is does have three colors of bell peppers in it: red, orange, and yellow. I love a chili that is chockful of peppers! My chili just has to have peppers in it. I also had a chili seasoning packet from Spice Miser and I decided I would give that a whirl this week too. Spice Miser never disappoints. I picked up that spice packet on my last trip to Eastern Market.

Tony's I-75 is located in Birch Run, MI. This place is not for the faint of heart. It is not the place to go for a light meal. And it might just be a heart-attack waiting to happen. This establishment will literally put an entire POUND OF BACON on your sandwich. Do you want an omelet? They will put a DOZEN OF EGGS in there. Not kidding. This is a family restaurant that serves up meals of EPIC proportions. They are famous for their serving sizes and they are also famous for the bacon that they serve up here. It is a bacon-lover's paradise and dream come true here. Did you know that they use up 11,000 lbs of bacon weekly? It is true, keep reading my Tony's I-75 restaurant review to learn more!
I have been an on and off again subscriber to HelloFresh for years. HelloFresh sends out meal kits weekly with all of the ingredients inside and a recipe card. As long as you follow the instructions on the recipe card you will end up with a mindblowing meal that is so great you will wonder how you even accomplished it. The recipes are unique and inspire you to get out of a rut in the kitchen and whip up something with gourmet flavor. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The meals, for me, always come out fantastic, like something you would order at a nice restaurant. I have never been let down or disappointed by any of my HelloFresh shipments.
You know what? Even though my cake looks like it was made by an inept and unskilled baker I am really truly proud of it. I wish I could send a virtual slice of this cake through your screen because the taste would blow your mind. I am calling this cake, Let's Get The Party Started". There is no party happening here... not a party in sight. But you know what I want to celebrate today? Life! I have been feeling incredible the past two months since I started this food blog. I feel so revived and renewed. I feel like a whole new better ME. That is enough reason for me to bake a cake and celebrate! I'm also going to give myself an A for effort because I really did work my booty off on this creation!
Pretty much obsessed with everything on this list! I have composed a list of gift ideas for the foodie in your life or go ahead and splurge on yourself! All day and night I live in a world where I dream of food. I really should start dressing myself in head-to-toe food clothing.

I don't usually purchase loaves of bread (been trying to keep the carbs down low) but Dave's Killer Bread is the most beautiful bread I have every laid my eyes upon. Seriously... bread... beautiful??? Trust me on this guys. I am also a firm believer in #noboringgrilledcheese. I made up that hashtag by the way. I can't use a boring white loaf of bread and that plastic-like American cheese. I guess I am a grilled cheese snob. Call me what you will!
I went with the 21 Whole Grains & Seeds loaf. Dave's Killer Bread uses all organic ingredients. This particular loaf has 5 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, omega 3s, and a huge assortment of whole grains all jam packed into one slice.
TRUWOMEN protein bars are made of completely plant-based ingredients and they include ingredients like cassava flour, brown rice protein, sunflower oil, roasted almond butter, and they are lightly sweetened with organic cane sugar. No sugar alcohols here because sugar alcohols can cause an upset stomach for many. The great thing about these TRUWOMEN protein bars is that there is absolutely no chalky aftertaste that you often get with a protein bar. So if you are into clean eating with only clean ingredients TRUWOMEN can come through and deliver the greatness to you!
I was not always this way. I created a lot of routines in my life and my life was beginning to feel so mediocre. Today I live life for the experience of trying out new and different things. I would definitely slap the label of “foodie” right across my forehead. I am in a committed relationship with food. Trying out new foods injects a ton of happiness and joy into my life.
What is a foodie?
A foodie is a person who is very passionate about food. It is more than just having a love for food. It is about the experience of savoring unique flavors and exploring what the world has to offer. Every single day new foods are hitting the market. On each of those days I am scouring the web and admiring them and wishing I could just get them down into my belly! A foodie has a strong, genuine interest in food and experiencing food is a hobby to them. There really are no requirements to being a foodie. There are several definitions of what it takes to be a foodie online but I feel that if you have that passion and desire about food then that is all that it takes to be a foodie.
I think it is safe to say that everyone LOVES pizza! Pizza is a universal food and so versatile. There are so many way to construct a great, tasty one! I discovered Realgood pizza recently and after flipping over the box and analyzing the nutrition facts I was sold! That big black dot that says, "guilt free" was enough to get me on board. Realgood pizzas are high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and grain-free (gluten-free). If you are on a keto diet I highly suggest giving these a whirl.
I have been cooking for a few years now but I really did not fall in love with it until last year when I began my weight loss journey. For awhile there pretty much anything passed as a meal... processed foods, loads of carbs, etc. I started falling into the trap of blaming my medication for weight gain. Until I changed my eating habits I realized I was dead wrong. I was the one to blame for my weight gain. I had been a skinny girl my whole life and when I plumped up I felt like I was in a foreign body of some sort. I realized I needed to make changes and amp up my recipes to pave the way for a healthier lifestyle.
