I come from the city of St. Clair Shores, MI but we recently made the drive all the way over to Utica just for a half-dozen box of donuts from Daddy’s Doughnuts. We were so blown away and impressed by these morsels of heaven, I just had to share my Daddy’s Doughnuts review with you over here on the Give It A Whirl Girl blog today. If you are wondering what is just so special about these donuts I will fill you in. The Daddy’s Doughnuts donut shop allows you to create your own donut creation.
This is a made-to-order, you dream it, they build it donut shop!
Daddy’s Doughnuts might just be the perfect place to make a pitstop if you have a sweet tooth to satisfy or if you are looking for a “cheat day” treat! Not only do these donuts taste great but the experience alone of creating your own is just a ton of fun! This doughnut shop promises to serve up a dose of happiness one doughnut at a time, and that is a promise fulfilled! Our family of 3 had a fabulous experience here. We were definitely all smiles when we took off with our beautiful box of donuts!

How you can get your very own made-to-order donut at Daddy’s Doughnuts
When you walk into Daddy’s Doughnuts there are menu cards available at the door. This is where the magic happens! You get to be the creator of your made-to-order doughnut. There are options at the top of the card for 12 doughnuts available in a variety of signature flavors or you have the option to design your own with a very wide variety of different toppings and drizzles.
The steps for designing your made-to-order Daddy’s Doughnut is simple! First off, you start with a warm vanilla doughnut then:
- Choose your doughnut coating.
- Choose your doughnut drizzle.
- Choose your doughnut topping.
I have all of the flavor options listed down below if it is too hard to see on the photo of the menu card. Once you place your order you can watch your donut creation come to life! It was fun to watch my custom donuts being made.

Other products available at Daddy’s Doughnuts
Daddy’s Doughnuts shop is more than just donuts! They also have edible cookie dough available, macarons, and some other specialty items. In the photos below you can see what type of specialty offerings are available. They had some rice krispies treats, marshmallow treats, two different kinds of bumpy cakes, two different flavors of whoopie pies, and some fudge brownies.
There are also some gluten-free products available for those of you who can’t consume gluten.
Daddy’s Doughnuts also has some beverages available. They have coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and hot cider available.

You know me… all about giving new things a whirl and Daddy’s Doughnuts sounds like the perfect place to get a dozen for Fat Tuesday. Mark your calendars and make sure you place your paczki order before March 9th! Fat Tuesday is a holiday that I always look forward to and I always need at least two to get my paczki fix!
One drawback
For me, there was only one little drawback that came to mind while typing up this Daddy’s Doughnuts review. That is that there is no seating available inside this donut shop. I know that many donut shops are grab-and-go but this is the type of establishment that I actually wouldn’t mind hanging out in for a while with my family. I wouldn’t mind having them pour me a cup of coffee to go with my donuts. I am only pointing this out so that my readers are aware that you will have to take your donuts to-go.
What’s next for me at Daddy’s Doughnuts
I am most certainly going to be stopping in again at this establishment for some more donuts and smiles! I have never in my life had a donut with bacon on it and I will be ordering a maple/bacon donut, for sure, next time I come in! The Key Lime Pie donut also sounds like a winner for me! I am also intrigued by their Strawberry Shortcake donut. This is the place to be if you are bored with your regular glazed donuts. Stop in at Daddy’s Doughnuts if you want to try out some adventurous, new donut flavors!

My little family of 3 had quite a wonderful experience at Daddy’s Doughnuts and though it isn’t exactly close to our hometown of St. Clair Shores, it is really worth the drive to Utica just to experience this unique spin on donuts!
